My x19 rattles a bit. It seems to be the front fairing.
Anyone have the same rattling problems when riding.
I just want to make sure there is nothing else I should be looking at or for.

my front tire wobbles too.LOL It could be that the rim needs to be balanced. The faster i go the more it wobbles. But i don't feel any vibrations though.

Chinese tires are known to be a bit out of shape and balance. You can balance your wheels/tires by removing the brake caliper from the disc (and the chain from the sprocket if it's the back wheel) and loosen the axle nut a bit. This should allow the wheel to turn freely on it's bearings. You will probably see that the wheel want to settle in one place all the time. Use a bit of chalk to mark the top of the tyre with the wheel in the position.
You can buy stick-on wheel weights from any car tire place. They come in strips of 7g sections (I got a 1kg pack of them for $15). Add them one section at a time to the inside of the rim at the place you marked, rechecking the balance after each addition. What you are trying to do is is get the wheel to stay in whatever position you place it in.
Another thing to check if you are getting a wobble or rattle is your headstem bearings. It sounds like they could be loose. With someone else holding the bike steady, grab the front wheel and try to move it backwards and forwards. If you can feel any movement then you may need to tighten the headstem nut. If that doesn't remove the slack then your bearings are shot and need to be replaced.
Cheers,

i think all the fairings rattle
excessive vibrations mean the motor mounts or the headstock usually

how tough is it to replace these bearings? i know mine is loose, but havent really gotten to "play" with it yet. I did buy the bike used and not sure how much abuse the bike took before me. I do know the bike is on its 2nd motor so i can only imagine....

Is it a wobble or more of a chatter? If its wobbling, something is not balanced, if its chattering, something (suspension) isn't doing its job properly.

In my case, the forks move front to back so I know either it has to be tightened or the bearings need to be replaced. I was just wondering what a pain in the ars this job is gonna be.

its not that bad
you gotta take the top off of the triple trees
and in the center will be a nut or something you can tighten
or you can put bearings in if they dont come with them

Good question.
I took my midbike for a spin todat on a nice flat road.
It seems like it is a slight wobbling and that is causing the front fairing to rattle.
May be the tire like red said??
dunno
