I snagged this off the web the pic.But it's a down draft carb. It's a carter YF single venturi carb that fits the older chevys.Well if i could snag one for cheap you know i'm gonna try it.LOL If i get my hands one of these and get it to work.Ram air setup is sure to follow.hangloose

so whats so great about a 'down draft?Dude the posabilities.1.It's a straight shot.2. it could free up a lotta room for a ram air system or even a nice airbox.I'm talking vent scoops coming from the front of the bike like the real 1:1's.

With the carb modified it might not need a manifold. dunno

dude they have quite a few on ebay.Type in carter carbs they should pop up.

Blitz they have a short manifold. The don't have the bend.
Boy it would be nice to take our standard side draft carb. Then be able to convert it into a down draft.HMMMM

I stand corrected.your right nutty P with some modding you can get away with no manifold.

If you could find a walbro carby with a large enough bore you could use that as a downdraft carby. They don't care which way up they are. :)

Oh i also rembered this about the wali's.The have high and low speed adjustments which is a plus. But if your off to much on either settings they definitley screw each other up.But when there right oh boy your good to go.
The 28mm carb i think would work.

ok thats what i thought
cuz if you turn the carb on its side gas will come out
they should say we have horizontal draft carbs
the down draft would be vertical
mmm coffee

I just remembered that the walbro's work of of the crankcase pressure. They would have to have a custom intake to work with our 4strokers.Since these are 2stroker carbs.

I don't think that will be a problem S. I was reading the specs on one of the carbs and it stated it was perfect for a chainsaw or ?. Anyway I've had chainsaws almost upside down and they kept running. Most of the Wali's look like they are designed the same except for a few changes for displacement reason's. So what's the damage as far as money?twocents

I've found so many possible carbs now the Red has opened up that can of worms. That i've confused myself.LOLdunno.There are carbs out there for harleys that are diaphram and i would suspect that they could be mounted in any direction.Take a lookey. Some of these are for harleys, snowmobiles and gokarts.(putting up more pics).

Some of the carbs i found are 30mm and up especially the ones for the harley and snowmobiles. If you do a search on tilloston. It will pull up a bunch stuff.

No big issue, swheels. As long as you had a vacuum path from the carby diaphragm to the inlet port in the head you'll have the vacuum pulsing to operate the diaphragm.

Have to agree with Red. In the end it's going to come down to size and price. The rest will work itself out?

Twumble-weed Oh that's not a smiley. What's up on the draft front? Anybody found anything new? I've been concentrating on the tire/suspension thing so I haven't looked into this although I've been tempted.
