X-18 for 100$

i got this x-18 for 100$ looks good and everything but little major problems,
the seller knew it jus didnt tell me, the clutch is gone, gas tank has 2x2 hole in it & i think thats pretty much it.

so i bought a 140cc motor for 100$ brand new ( off craigslist ) and ordered a 24mm mikuni carb

Looks real good you still gotta a deal and a half! You sure that's a 125cc motor in there??? Looks like the stock 110cc to me. I think the original owner didn't know enough about these bikes.

S - there was a 110cc X-18 stock in there, wen i found out the gear is gone, i bought a 125cc semi off this guy that came out of his chopper but bike is in progress i have some pics of green frame speechless33

the my frame i jus painted but imma be working this week so barely any time to work on the bike, and if i have a 2x2 hole in my gas tank ( it was melted from previous owner ) how do i repair it? and thats the motor imma be using and stock clutch, as for clutch i had to cut some of it out to make the clutch reach, works fine

I wouldn't try and fix the tank I'd just get another. A bad fix could mean a bike burned to the ground. A new tank is worth the minimal investment :dunno:

i recommend getting a newer clutch cable, becuz that one can snap under the pressure, becuz the bigger motor clutches recquire more force to pull to engage the clutch

yea i kno but i put in the clutch and test it, its pretty soft compare to 110cc stock motor i tried it thinking_smilie

Get it...like yesterday! Although be aware there are Chinese knock-off's of FMF pipes floating around. They perform the same but are made of lower quality materials.

i got mine from tbolt.com, and me and swheels had to cut it to make it fit my bike, there is no direct bolt on pipe that fit these bikes

yep no direct on bolt on exhaust, cept for x-18, u can buy the can and switch it, i been looking at fmf, pro circuit, & yoshimura. i like how the fmf is all quiet and smooth pro & yoshi kinda loud but anyways i wanna weld my own pipe, any ideas?

but the pipe didnt come out the back straight, and dicelimit your gunna wanna get the whole system so you dont choke that motor

I didn't say you couldn't use a X18 pipe on a larger motor you can up to a point. That point is if you have a YX motor with a KLX exhaust position. If it's a Honda Exhaust outlet you can use it but you are using a 110cc pipe on a motor that is a lot bigger which means more exhaust flow. The pipe I made is finally about right for the size head I have on the bike now. Before it was too large but it was built from cut up 1:1 exhaust and seemed to work fine. I have no idea where I was going with that :dunno: 5am is not my usual time to be awake but a sinus infection on top of a serious toothache make for no sleep.

that is correct, i do not believe the pbu sells pipes for the klx head style, its just cheaper to get a pipe off ebay, its just cut and weld, trust me it was saved alot of headache and confusion in the end i promise you, or if you need a klx head look on the pitbike websites

correct, they sell pipes with a 20mm id, thats one of the reasons why brians bike didnt break the record, it couldnt flow up top

pbu said that their pipes use a 1 1/4 inch header, thats not the id is it?

no and come to think of it, the 1 1/4 is the max width a header can go there in the port i believe

i just pulled a tape on my 146 and the max width is 1 1/4
you need to ask 'what is the id at the header'

only 1 died at the track, and ive had to walk a few home, ran out of gas lol
my wife says i pay more attention to the bikes than her
so then when i asked if i could change her tail pipe out...she got mad lol
now i dont hear that sheet no mo

anyway, you can clean it off with steel wool or paint thinner, goop a shot of oil on it before you reinstall, that oughta keep rust out

i also jus got my 24mm carb today and unfortunately, they gave me wrong carb gasket, =O is there anyway u can cut and make ur own gasket, i cant test the bike til the weekends and while im still putting it together ill post some pics
