Ok not anykind of bike related but it's pretty cool. Started as a 2wd 47 willys wagon that was left for dead behind a barn. Just some things done sofar are all new floors 5.0 litre V8 from a mustang np 435 trans np 205 transfercase both from a 1 ton ford truck dana 44 axles from a cherokee cheif. Lots of body work its far from done but here are a few pics .

This isn't going to be a rock crawler. I'm building this for a guy who is big hunter fisher camper so it will see 90% road 10% offroad just to get up the mountain. More dual purpose he is doing the body work while I get to build the drivetrain.

Yea, but what years the international? it was dope rugged for its time.

I've had to tell many cherokee and wrangler owners theyll need to pay the blue book of there "truck" to make it pass smog or road worthy. I know its a jeep thing and i do understand, thats why i drive a toyota :P

j/k w/u tho, i know cj5s aren't no slouches.

TJ? I really like FJ landcruisers in the 80s and if i could get any euro suv in the US, id be a land rover defender. Back in the day when engineering was still sound and overly simplified...

The willys isn't built by international it was built by willys overland who also produced the jeep and it's a 47. Here is a shot of my cj5. It loonks nothing like this now. Heres a before and a build shot I'm still working on it. It is closer to being done then in this pic but I haven't take any pics of it in a long time.

ACTUALLY  Willy's really deserve very little credit for the jeep creation. In '39 they were awareded a contract from the war deparment to mass produce a 'General Purpose' vehicle, or 'Jeep' for short. The original vehicle called the 'Bantam Reconnaissance Car 40' was designed by a small company named 'American Bantam' who won the bid but didn't have means of mass production to meet the war efforts needs. Willy's is responsible for the rugged motor in the jeep, and producing them, but not original design.

Late 50's Willy's sold to Kaiser who actually produced the Cj5. The Cj3B was the last actual Willy's production jeep. And i find it sad i know a whole bunch about a truck i hate with a passion lol. But Cj5's - 7 are dope!!

Those are REAL off road vehicles. Not the jokes they stamp "trail rated" on these days. Does it mean it will come to my shop on a flat bed missing an entire front lower control arm, steering hub and wheel because they inexplicably off on the freeway? Because from my experince, that is what trail rated means. Nutty-Rant Sorry when u have to work on them, you have to whine about them sometimes.

oh and international is a agie. company. They have no affiliation with jeep, willy's, american bantam.

Most people don't know about the bantam company which is right here in pa. And there is nothing willys about that willys and nothing jeep left in my cj5. The willys runs a ford 302 with a np435 trans 205 case and dana 44 axles. The cj5 now runs a tuneport injected 305 roller motor with a th350 trans 205 case and dana 60 front and rear axles on a 4 link.
