Ok so today i was down im my so called "Parts Room" and just stared at everything until i realized that i could probably make a whole entire bike with everything that i had. So today i started my budget street fighter build. So far its based off a X19 frame with X6 wheels.
Ok the in this set of pics is to show what i started with

In these set of pics is what i used for forks. When the sky finally cleared i ended up with an X17 Upper Tree an X1 Lower Tree the bearing and cups were just what seemed to fit along with x19 forks. I needed a longer axle and luckly found one that worked perfectly lucky me

So today i mounted some fairings to see what would work. I was on planning on using and X1 tail and tank until i realized that i had and X18 tank and tail laying around so i mocked it up and what do you know it actually looked good just need a little modding (see pics) including cutting the subframe and its supports. So far this build has cost me NOTHING to do just time but i have more of that than money so...
I NEED YOUR HELP!!!
ok so i dont know what to do for a headlight please post pics of some street fighter headlight style ideas to help me out thanks in advance

Ah not to put a damper on a cool project (I could build bike after bike and be happy) but it looks like your steering tube is bent? If it is the steering is going to bind insside the steering neck. It might just be the angle on the photo :dunno: But it's a damn cool build thumbsup2
Ok I went back through the photo's and took a closer look. I can see you were just showing us that lower triple anad used a different one DUH!
What are you using to fill in the gaps that you mocked up with poster board?

wow that looks pretty cool, how did you fill in that open area under the tank (details?) i would love to fill in the open area on my x7/15 thing.
and while you at it, you should make the tank and tail one peice, taht would be cool.

I used the poster board to make the template as you can see but im still debating weather to make it from steel or plastic i know it will be very hard to mold the two togther but ill see what i can do. if you look int he picture with the white fill in its some what mounted to the frame and not the tank so what i was thinking about doing is just making the fill in's and weld that to the frame and just have the tank over lay it.. make cents?????

It's a lookin good! I love the X6 wheels they are the best looking. IMO
The only thing is you can't fit any tubeless aftermarket tires on the rims.banghead Iv'e been searching for tubed aftermarket tire nothing so far.

You could borrow from these designs

Some 1 inch fog lights are what alot of the locals here use. But I have noticed that the rat bike look is coming back also, so I do not know if they are related. thinking_smilie

Thanks FIVE then i think i might just cut it off because i want the engine to look like it suspended rather than in cased but if its structural then i need to keep it

Take a min to search through some pics of what i did to my frame
"my $100 x15 (cont)" thred, it has pics of before and after i sawed off the cradle, imo, after cutting the cradel, it looks like a skinny person sucking in their stomac, but thats jsut me.
ive not noticed any bending of anything, and it still held up after i highsided and flipped the bike, so it should be fine to do.

1 - Single Headlight

3 - Two of the same sized headlights one on top of the other
4 - Two of the same sized headlights with two small ones on both ends

Another option to maybe replicate....

When I think street fighter, I think of a single headlight and very little fairing around it, but I don't know what a "proper" street fighter is.
*Edit* the prices they ask for this stuff is ridiculous!

Ok so i woke up today at 8:30 unintentionally and started to work on my bike i said to my self the night before that tomorrow i need to cut the unnecessary brackets cut off and find something to use for bar clamps. So for about an hour i was in my "Parts Room" looking for something i can use for bar clamps I had alot of options but every option needed to be modded lol its fine no big deal so i grabed a crate and filled it up with parts and head back upstairs to start cutting the brackets off (see pics)
SoPackedCustoms
05-30-2009, 12:23 PM
Ok so once the bracket were cut off i started to work on the bars and clamps. Originally i was just going to make my own bars but then it was backk down stairs to the "Parts Room".Looking around i saw a mountain bike that had the design i need for that street fighter look 15 min later i have some bars.I headed back upstair top see what i can dot o mount it.The x17 upper tree already has holes that held the gauge cluster i was going to use those but nothing would fit. So after alot of head scratching and 3 cans of coke later i used a cat eye clip-on thingy and started to mod it to fit (see pic) one of the bolt holes is directly over the blot that holds the trees in place so i will have to drill and tap it to work.
After the bars were complete i was going to go out and buy some fog lights from advance auto parts until i stumbled on this mini chopper headlight i had laying around. To mount it i just had to make a bracket from 1" flat bar steel
and i mounted it right on the lower tree so when i turn the headlight comes with me. I like how it looks but just curious on what yo guys thought LMK

05-30-2009, 12:32 PM
So with my goal set and finished (cut brackets off and work on bars and clamps) i had alittle extra time before my gf came to my house. So i started to work on the electronics of the bike. What i planning on having is just the E-Start the headlights and taillights working. Because its a street fight bike and a lot if not all the bike is exposed, i wanted to basically develop a clean look and just hide everything so it looks like a motor and frame with no loose ends. I mocked the body back on and realized theirs room under the tail so i started to work and fit thing where i can. I have steel i can use around my work area but i decided to try to reuse some metal that i cut off to mount everything. Most of everything is in the tail section and the coil pack is under the battery bracket. Ill run the wires along the frame and hide it as much as i can. SEE PICS
Got the motor in too! SEE PICS
Ok so i finished up today around 1:00 PM and the build as im happy to say has cost my NOTHING up to this point. Thanks for reading more updates soon!!!

Actually I like the headlight and that's from someone who hates choppers. I think the chrome is wrong but that's just me. My second concern which most people would ignore now is how much light does it put out? Probably not much so I would modify the inside to handle something brighter. As for the total build YOU SUCK!!!!!bluelaugh I would kill to have a parts room to walk down to and just out parts in a box and make it work.

Blitz - Im going to try to make i guess you can say a switch pannle that will look like a brass knuckle like where the holes are for the fingers will be the switch can you picture it?
Nutt - some people may say im the neighborhood mechanic people ride there bikes till they break i buy them for like 20 - 50 dollars at most and just keep them in case builds like this comes up and so far its paying off and as far as the headlight the chrome is out and flat black is in
AzN 2NR - Is the AzN in your name stand for asian? Well im Cambodian lol but anyways back to bikes ya i looked at the light a few time and realized its out to far so tomorrow morning ill rebend the bracket and push it back in some and yes the black satin is what i had in mind too

SoPack MTB bars are extremely strong in the center but you're going to be putting a lot more force through them than they are designed for. Don't get me wrong I believe they are more than strong enough but I have to agree with Stuntn. Using one riser might be placing to much force at one single point. That's why you don't see many, if any, bikes using just one riser. A second is also that "Oh Shizzle!" backup. If one breaks while riding at least you have one holding the bar until you get the bike stopped. I would mark and drill the top triple for two risers. It's still free if you have two and a whole lot safer.

Ok so the night before (may 31st 2009) i was out back just looking over what i was working on the day before i thought it would be nice to mount the carb on the motor so i took the manifold off and before i put the new one in i looked inside to fine a crap load of rust and gunk and jammed up in the i was pissed my build was going so well until the motor so i took it apart to try to clean it and seem like nothing will help it so I NEED A MOTOR. Ok so today i put my losses to the side and got back to work not much was done just worked on the rear sets and the bars and headlight.
Rear sets - Ok so for the right side i decided to you use X12 brackets with X1 heel guards and foot pegs and X17 rear master cylinder and brake pedal and for the left side just the X12 brackets and X1 heel guard and foot peg i will have to mod the shifter no worries guys. SEE PICS
Bars - I NEED RISERS lol that and i got the forward controls mounted as well its starting to look like a bike now
Headlight - just pushed it in a bit no biggy

it wont break but the risers are bolted and it will turn and loosing the riser no doubt while your riding if you ever have to pull on them hard and you will eat sh!t unless he has the risers with 2 bolts holdin it on...i still wouldnt use just one tho bcuz you have no kind of leverage on the triple and controlling it will be sketchy

hey guys its been awhile since any updates i was able to only do some small things to the bike ill post pics later. Ok so the problem with X6 wheels is that they where originally design for 2 smokes as we all know and was not meant for a 4 stroke motor at all nor its TORQUE which is why the wheel is very weak and wont hold up to all that torque from a 110cc motor especially if i want to pull wheelies. So there are two ways to solve this problem one is what are good friend Randi a.k.a 125ccCrazy did on his sons 125cc cateye using a different hub from another bike and merge the two together it hard to explain but it worked out for him and two is something i always wanted to do which is a dual chain drive. I only seen this done on a Ferrari bike Arlen Ness built. So just think of a sprocket instead of a brake rotor on the rear wheel. SO the rear wheel will have two sprocket all connected to a jackshaft in turn connected to the motor. So now the new question how will i have a rear brake. I will mount the brake on the jackshaft like a trans brake like they use on chopper or i can do a sprotor (sprocket rotor) but then i need a caliper wide enough for the sprocket. (SEE PICS)

:jacked: Hey Swheels what id the problem with those wheek?, why would tubeless tires work on them. I want to use those wheels also cause they are :bling2:The rims could take a pretty good beating.I really like them to.One because the x6 has the narrowest front rim.So it gives the front tire a nice crown instead of stretching the tire out decreasing the crown. And the rear rim is the wider than most so it does the opposite.Which could get the lean angle on the front and rear tire pretty close. That was the main reason why i was using them with the stock tires.thumbsup2

the lip is different between tubless tires and tube type tiresThis is true but it through me for a loop cuz the stock tires would fit tubeless and the x6 rims. Now i wonder if the slicks would mount up on the x6 rims???? I think i'm gonna have try this.I'll be happier than a Mofo if they do.I got a few sets of x6 wheels and put slicks on them.

S this is a subject I have to disagree on when it comes to using 2 stroke x6 wheels, the bolt holes have to be drilled and tapped to 8mm to use a 4 stroke x6 sprocket , in doing this the hub doesnt have much meat left around the holes unlike an actual 4 stroke x6 wheel.... I have had two of these wheels break around the bolt holes, my son's cat actually ovaled the holes from torque so I modified a hub plate from an x9 to fit the x6 wheel, this gave the sprocket 3 more holes to bolt the sprocket to for a total of 6 bolts and it keeps the bolt holes in the hub from cracking out...
Before anyone says anything about using an x18 sprocket, the little 6mm bolts won't hole up to a 4 stroke since there are only 3 bolts in the x6 wheel.... You can prob get away with using 6mm bolts in the wheel with the addition of this hub plate but it will never hold up with just 3 little 6mm bolts..
