My x-1 bike chain broke off so i am trying to do a quick fix so i can ride it again. Can i go to a near buy store to buy a replacement masterlink chain piece that connect with the x-1 chain link? Otherwise my only other option is to buy it online and wait awhile.

The x-1 chain links are a little bit longer. The good new is that you can use a bicycle chain and it will work.

Take the chain with you and compare it to what they have on the shelf. I should be the standard size bike but for the life of me I can't remember the size and seeing them side-by-side is better. You can even take the rear sprocket and test fit it. Place the teeth between the links if it fits the chain will work. Be advised though just buying a master link won't work it's the wrong size like they said.

so whats the size and length of the x-1 chain so i can go to walmart and get a replacement?Get the bicycle chain it will work.Iv'e ran one on my x1 for years. Now if i's an x2 with the cvt tranny the your in trouble.Becuase that setup takes a smaller link chain.
See pic bicycle chain and crank sprocket: I switched to a x1 front sprocket to use on my x7.Then i would use bicycle crank sprockets to get different gear ratios. It worked out great for me.

Yep Swheels I remember when you told me that about the chain size way back. I was telling him to compare because then he can see it will work instead of worrying about it.
Damn the X7 is way lower than your bike now.

what if i just break one of the link piece off the x-1 chain and then connect it back? would this work or the chain will just snap again?

It'll work but if you've stretched the chain enough for that to work it'll probably snap again and this time tear up expensive pieces.
