My brother got x19 yesterday and the shift pattern is 1 up 3 down. How do I reverse that?

just fip the sifter around, it will be alot farther from the foot pegs, i would just tell him to learn to ride it like it is, i personally prefer that pattern to the standard 1 down 3 up

and there is a reason why the pattern is like that, ever tried to shift while dragging a knee in a left hand turn?

My brother got x19 yesterday and the shift pattern is 1 up 3 down. How do I reverse that? Look at the left side of a x18 and u can see the shift linkage that was probably simalar to what was on there prior. The reverse pattern is nice for upshifts while leaning and hanging off. But it makes it much more difficult to downshift into a turn if your use to riding on the ball of your feet. The peg position to me seems too akward to use it as leverage when shifting, my whole leg and foot moves the shifter, costing me time in setup prior to the turn.

I get what you two said, but I hate it. Is there a way to put an x18's linkage on there to make it like a 1:1 bike?

I used the reverse pattern for a while and had no problems. It was easier cranked over. Then I started riding a street bike day in and day out using the stock pattern. When I got into Mid's I thought going back to reverse would be easier...nope. I don't know if it's because there's only 4 gears or what but I hate the reverse now :dunno:
