I plan on buying a x18 soon and did my research. I red some guides on here on how to shift and I think I got it down pretty good, but I have 1 question. When do I know when to shift, all the guides I red about shifting never told when to shift? btw I own a GP MX3 and have never rode a manual and have no experience with a manual whatsoever.

Trust me, you will know when to shift. In every gear you will get to its maximum potential right before she will start to strain. You will be able to feel and hear what I am talking about. Does this make since. You can hear what I am talking about hear on this Video. You will learn pretty quick. When was on the main street with all the cars and started to slow down once I came up to traffic, I was down shifting (engine braking) using the motor to slow me down instead of relying solely on the brakes, put less wear on the brakes.
