The rear brake caliper came off of the rear disk of my x7 while I was driving the other day. When I went to go put it back on, the brake pads were touching eachother very tightly. Like someone was constantly holding down the brake handle. How can I loosen the pads so they are not touching. Thanks in advance.

Since you have the caliper off you might want to clean it. Once the caliper is off take it apart. remember where everything goes and don't loose the o-ring.
To get the pistons out you can use compressed air. once out you can sand them with fine 1000 or 6000 wet or dry sandpaper. You the sandpaper to get any blemishes out and once you done polish the pistons. Clean the caliper with brake cleaner especially around the gasket (crud gets in there). Once done lube the pistons with brake fluid and evenly push the piston back in (not all the way makes it difficult to bleed) takes longer. Put it back together mount and bleed. This is what I did to my brakes.
