What is the best way to put street legal turn signals on the bike? Should I buy some motorcycle turn signals? Will they hook right in? I've seen pictures of a street legal x18 that had a bar with the license plate/turn signals attached to it. Thats what i'm shooting for. My x18 lights dont work period, so I need new ones anyways. I'm assuming its the bulbs.

I use my stock signals. No need for anything else unless your state requires otherwise. Just get your stock signals to work. Or you could use motorcycle signals in place of the stock ones. It would be a simple task to wire them in. The 18's rear signals are hard to see under the tail so I could see the benifits of wiring some aftermarket ones in. Its all up to you.

Yeah I figured they would be difficult to see as well. Also, are they going to br bright enough? I know some of the brighter bulbs can burn the housing.

They really aren't great for daytime use. I won't lie... At night the are more than bright enough. My tailight has been replaced with a led bulb that functions as a brake light too. I don't think that you could put anything in the stock sockets that would burn hot enough to do anything. The heat everyone talks about is usually to do with headlights. Your directionals never stay on long enough to get hot. I guess the tailight may get hot but I would just replace it with an led bulb and that would fix that. You can buy the led bulbs at your local auto store.

I replaced all my bulb with L.E.D's and just tapped into the stock harness and not had a problem yet my bike has been legal for two years now. Since Texas has a state inspection will have figure out how to install highbeams.

Rene's right LED's are the way to go. Cost more but in the end they're brighter and use less power meaning they don't kill the battery.

Thanks rene and everyone else. I'm so stoked to get this beauty on the road.

Oh hey, I'm seeing 1157-x19/x20/x30 etc. does it matter which? I saw the blue under x30 which is what you had, so I am assuming those are the ones to get?

Rene13..The X-15 lighting controls have a high beam/lowbeam switch;-so does the turn signal switch I use for my setup.........

I used a manual from a 88 Honda Hurricane and traced the stoplight/runninglight and turnsignal circuits;-drew my own map circuits took measurements;went shopping and installed the harnesses and the lighting......

my bike dont have an alarm but I will get it back if it gets stolen..My bikes lojacked.

When I move back home to Texas I will need to add highbeams to my bike cause of state inspection. I was thinking of swaping the headlight harness for a taillight harness splicing the terminals and adding that switch that has all the functions like yours and the extra switch use it for some strobes or something.

1157 is the tailight bulb and 1156 is the headlight; now the X19/X20X30 that is how many L.E.D's are on that bulb.

There are bunch of 1157 whch one will do for the taillight. Are they dual filamented and do you need to do and minor adjustments or just put it in?

The tail are dual filaments and yes some of them will need some minor adjustments to put them in. I got one of the bigger bulbs and had to cut some of the housing on the top of the housing to get the bulb to fit.
