Ok i let my friend ride my bike the other day (he's had experience riding them) and came back from riding and told me he didn't realize it was a manual. He rode for about 3 min shifting gears clutchless. The next day i took it out and noticed it was now louder and when slowing down from going at high speeds the sparking sound was much louder. Did 3 min of clutchless riding do damage?

Depends on how hard he was riding but yes it could...probably not but yes it could. The one thing I don't understand is what do you mean by "sparking"?

Do you mean popping from the exhaust?

check and verify the chain is not too loose and hitting the frame
check all the bolts that hold your sprockets on
change the oil and look for metal
verify the motor is secure in its mounts and cannot be moved with your hand

if he had experience then he probably knew the correct way to clutchless shift... the thing with the exhaust being louder and all, even if the tranny was damaged from improper shifting then that would have nothing to do with your exhaust.
