View Full Version : How to install mirrors and where to buy
How do you install rear view mirrors on the x18, does it require me to drill holes or anything with my fairings? And also, where could I buy a nice one. I found a site in which they were selling carbon fiber ones for like $40. I get my mid bike tomorrow. rock2
Narrowed to 2 different mirrors, all black or carbon fiber.

i installed mine myself.
Yes you have to drill holes on the front by on each side of the headlight.
The mirrors should be fully adjustable, if you dont know make sure u ask before you buy.
Finally, just make sure you make the same holes on both sides.
Oh, and dont make them too big or your mirror will vviibbrrattee.
Yeah, I'll probably have my brother drill the holes onto the fairings, do they crack easily?

id use a peice of metal of some kind whether it be aluminum or somthing else flat that will act like a washer under the fairing

You'll pay more for those mirrors from PBU and they're the same mirrors you'll find on any scooter for much less money.
Check ebay for "scooter mirrors"
Yes, you will have to drill holes.
The best way to get your holes accurate on both sides is to make a template.
I will try to post some illustrations a little later when I have more time
Alright, Maybe use photoshop and pinpoint where the 4 holes will be, print out and tape to fairing.

Those mirrors are from a full size bike and can be found cheaper on ebay. Lockhart Phillips has plenty of mirrors that will work on the X-18.
I got my Pig Spotter 2's from ebay for 40 bucks with shipping. Just take the time and look and see what fits your style.
P.S When installing mirrors you should sit on the bike and plan ahead on where the best visibilty. Make a templates(2) of the mounting base out of cardboard so once you have your location down. you can tape into place to help you square them off (make sure they are straight)
