Hey guys I dont have the tools that came with the bike. I was wondering how do I remove the fairings. I have my own tools like pivetting ratcheting set that might work. I cant get to the bolts near the tank inside.
I wanted to take off the fairings so I can apply locktite blue to all of the bolts and change the oil since I still need to break it in... I've watched a youtube video about changing the oil but he didn't point where the drain plug is if that is what you call it..
I have checked the HOW TO forum and can't find anything about it.
thanks! :)

well i think al the x bikes have the same size nuts and bolts for the fairings, so on my 15 for the body mounts, the nut is 10mm and the fairing nuts are 8mm. and the drain plug is on the bottom sideof motor on the side where the kick starter is. you might need a little cheater bar to help loosen it the first time, them chinese tighten the shit outta that oil drain plug.

i would take the bolts out that hold the fairings together first then take the bolts off that hold the body to the frame. by the way what bike do you have?

get down on your knees and get to squeezing your hand in there, only TLC will get the x18's plastics off
thats why mine just has the black fairing and gas tank zip tied togethorbluelaugh

on the x18 - take off the nose and seat, then take off the right side panel, then take off the left panel and the tank as one piece

I use these first ones for my panel to panel mounts with wing nuts and the third ones on her for my panal to frame mounts http://www.scooterpartsrus.com/dress_up_parts.htm and loctite. (Use rubber washers where ever posible) helps absorb some vibration and save your plastics. I use these on my X-18

Use 5W30 Non Synthetic motorcycle oil during the 3 tank break-in process and then after you've completed your break-in,use 10W40 Synthetic motorcycle oil. I prefer Castrol thumbsup2

All you will need for now which will probably be a couple weeks for your break-in process is 5W30 Castrol or Mobil Non Synthetic motorcycle oil.
