Hello all this is my first post. I received my x18 2 days ago and was wondering if the turning radius is really that bad? When I try and turn it hits the side of the tank. Is there anyway to raise the bars so I it will have better turning?

Also I weigh 205lbs and the brakes barely even work. On the other forum they recommended bleeding the brakes and checking if there was a fluid leak. I have checked and there is no leak on it. When I get off work tonight I will try and bleed them I am not to sure on how this is done thou. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

I bought this bike to teach my wife how to ride since she is 5'2'' and can't reach the ground on my cbr1krr.

Thanks for the help!

Seems like a great forum and I have already read some of the How to's on here. :)

no you dont have to raise them. just loosen the 2 allen screws and push the bars away form you. you should plenty of space between the tan and bars if located right. and as far as the brakes, man i have no clue, my brakes have worked lawless since day 1.

Ok thanks for the handle bar info i'll try that today. Yah i already bled my brakes and they are still about the same i mean I have to squeeze them pretty hard to stop and it takes a while to come to a full stop. Can you do stoppies on yours?

I squeeze as hard as I can and it doesn't even feel like I would fall forward from the front brake. The back brakes also stick when I press them meaning after pressin the lever I have to kick it up so it's not sticking... angry_red I've opened up the brake fluid resorvoir and it has a decent amount in there.

Should I fill it up to the top and what kind of brake fluid do I use?

yeah, i mean i cant ride a stoppie, but i can get the back wheel off the ground. my brakes are great. and i don know what would be causing the back to be sticking, try loosening the brake pedal nut a little, maybe too tight. and as far as brake fluid, couldnt tell ya, i would guess the regular kind you get at motorcycle shop.

You would probably need to do a spring mod for the rear brake so it doesn't stick anymore, thats what i did

it will prolly stop much better for your lighter wife
i have found the rear brake to be pathetic and i took them off
you can mod the front brake to be bigger like with a pitbike setup, or you can go dual for insta-stoppie
