Well I finally started my x1 project that I have been wanting to do for almost one year now. Basically this project is a 49cc x1, I am going to change the front forks to larger forks, front and rear wheels that i got from my x15 and put a 110cc engine in it. I started this project about a week ago, mostly getting the x1 fully stripped and all the stock x1 parts off. I then modded the forks to fit the bike, I just have a ghetto spacer that I put there but I will weld it on the frame so it will hold stronger. When I was putting the rear wheel on it didn't fit, so after trying all different types of things, I decided to flip the swingarm and (I don't know why) but the wheel fit perfectly. Another problem that I ran into was the rear shock mounts would have to be re-welded because of me flipping the swingarm. So last night I finished re-welding the rear shock mounts onto the other side of the swingarm. Basically I have a roller right now that just needs some final fitment. When everything gets fitted, ill start on the engine mounts. It also looks like i might need to raise the rear swingarm about an inch for the chain to fit without hitting or scratching the swingarm. Here are some pictures of the bike of how it is standing right now. I will post lots more pictures as i continue to build and work on the bike to keep you guys updated. :)

ok, that looks like alot of work
i hope you get it where you want
what fairings are you planning for it?
or is this this a 'as it goes project'?

mishka
05-27-2008, 05:31 PM
most of the work is done. that was what i was mostly worried besides the engine mounts. the fairings i will keep stock, unless i can get my hands on some x7 fairings then ill try to make them fit.

are you gonna paint it??

Hey mishka just don't beat on it to bad.The what ever metal they use for the x1's wasn't the greatest. The shock mounts always break on those things if you try to stiffen up the rear shock to much.

mishka
05-27-2008, 06:26 PM
most of the things on the bike will be re-enforced. i already re-enforced the shock mount and will also be enforcing the tail section.

the bike will be painted. what color, im still not sure. im thinking of keeping all the electronics like lights, signals, horn, electric start. ect if i get the x7 fairings, but i keep the stock x1 fairings then ill go full race theme since the head lights are already shaved on my fairings. so i guess it all depends on what im feeling. :)

Ninja take both bikes thumbsup2 Then you have An "A" bike and a "B" bike. If one hits the dirt or craps out you have another ride to ride like you stole it moon1

It looks sweet! For the exhaust on your bro inlaw bike.Get the stock x6 can and us it.It will work WAAAAAAYYYYY better than whats on there now.I did to the kids bike at the shop i work at on the weekends. It sounds badass plus it hauls ass now.Trust me on this one it will out perform those to cans.
Check this out for the kid bike i put a cheap 24mm tapered bore carb with the stock exhaust it ran good at low to mid speeds but would do alittle popping on the topend. So rather than jetting the carb down.I took of the 2 cans and put ob 1 x6 stock. And it worked at first i was thinking even the x6 stock can wouldn't flow to great. But it does and it flows better than the stock x18 pipe.speechless33 Oh and put some oil on that chain i can see the chain has kinks in it.I'm not trying to down play you.I just want you and others to be safe. I really do like what you've done!

Ooh one more thing you did a great job getting the motor in.(heres the but) It looks like the motor might be mounted to high because the lower part of the chain looks like it might rub on the swingarm pivot when the rear suspension get compressed. So it might be tuggin on the chain which will pull on the swingarm.Just becarefull.thumbsup2

thanx for the advice. i might just use the x18 can then. he just doesnt want to buy another exhaust since we got two laying around. the chain, im putting oil on it tonight. as for the swingarm/chain problem, that was fixed. it passes by it nice and doesn't touch it. but thanx for the advice on the exhaust.thumbsup2

I know ya seen the bike before but here are some inprogress pics of my son's red X1 I convereted to a 4 stroke with an x6 body...

Tell your B-I-L that the X1 rear wheel will not hold up to that 110, I gaurantee after a few romps and the wheel will be scrap.... needs to look for some x12,15,18 wheels

After all the welding was done I ground the welds down and molded it all in so it's all smooth....

How's everything holding up after you ground smooth all the weld seams?
I want to smooth out all my welds but I am afraid that because of all the weight the things are going to bust apart on me.
The bike looks really nicethumbsup2 almost like how I'm trying to do mine....... oh what the heck, I think I'll just quit my project and stea......er........ugh buy, yeah buy your bike insteadmoon1

LOL

The bike is solid but then again my son only weighs maybe 70 pounds and doesnt beat it....

The most I gound as far as welds were mine from the new brackets to bolt the 4 stroke in it and the mods to the swingarm and pivot point on the frame for the swingarm..

wow..

sorry for no updates.
i have been busy with a lot of things, and the x1 wasn't one of them..
im working on a new swingarm for it tho.

thinking of making it about 2 inches longer and about an inch to an inch 1/2 wider.

reason being is that one, the sprocket is about 1mm away from the swingarm, and the tire is about 1/2 in from the front of the arm. lol plus it will make it stronger.

so i will post pictures once im done.

and 125, the x1 is still holding up, but hes giving up on the bike, its just been through to much and he might just get another one.

hey randy i had a question for you..your x1, you had the 107 or a 124?
im still not sure if i should go ahead and try to fit the 125 in there or just go safe with a 107..the 107 and the 124's are about the same price on ebay. so i would rather spend a little more and get the 124..but i dont know if it will fit..

does anyone know how much longer the 124 is then the 107?

thanx

well if its a gpx 125, then its 7mm longer than the 110, also the head is a little fatter

mishka
08-04-2008, 03:22 PM
hmm i wonder if i can make it fit the x1..

well once im done with it, ill get the 124, then if anythin ill just put it in the x18..

thanx blitz.
